Supply chain

Products that we use on a daily basis are transported through many different channels (air, water, rail, road…), producing the largest part of greenhouse gas attributed to human activity. Carbon emission is present at every stage of the logistic supply chain, from manufacturing through to product distribution, because of the use of natural resources, particularly in the form of energy (oil, gas, electricity…). The optimization of logistic procedures will radically reduce the carbon footprint linked to the supply chain process; more energy-efficient or alternative transport, load-factor optimization… Another solution is the preference for short and local circuits (reduced distance between the production site and the sales point and few intermediaries).
